However whilst it is not unusual, as a consumer, to have a normal understanding and expectation of the colour and farranging appearance of costly gemstones, Swarovski crystal colour names are not particularly visible or indicative of their coherent appearance, which can lead to confusion.

The Swarovski crystal topaz colour, variants and finishes are broadly in the yellow to amber colour range. Upon casual appearance, the farranging colour, if not effects, are similar to Citrine, Amber, Yellow Sapphire and of course, the aluminium silicate mineral, gemstone Topaz itself.

The Swarovski crystal Topaz variants are:

Light Topaz, Light Topaz Ab Topaz Topaz Ab

Ab, is an abbreviation which refers to 'Aurora Borealis' coating finish: an extra metallic back-coating, mechanically applied to the crystal. This back-coating results in added reflective brilliance and intensity of colour, creating the strong 'flash' result often seen in crystal jewellery pieces.

A great deal of light is visible within the crystal, serving to enhance dominant vivid yellows and growth incidental reflections.

With the expanding of Ab back coating, Light Topaz displays a slightly darker yellow/orange tone and shows many variations within this defined spectrum. farranging brilliance is greatly increased, sending multiple rebounding internal reflections to interior facet planes and resulting in a more impressive sense of 'flash' apparent than in the uncoated, non-Ab version.

At first appearance, and in straight-ahead view, Topaz displays a darker yellow or gold/amber tone, reminiscent of a fine cognac. In angled views, ambient light conditions again interact forming variations and modulations within same defined chromatic palate. There are no sharp or unexpected 'jumps' to unrelated hues and a located sense of warm is felt from within this close colour range.

Adding the Ab metallic back coating, bestows a large growth in reflectivity and brilliance from within the deeper warmth of the co The colour depth is magnificently emphasized and displayed over the transmit horizontal planes with boundaries reflecting over the breadth of the crystal.
